Baker-Manchester Daffodil Pattern-

The Flower symbolizes new life and beginnings and passage to death, and from purity to passion. Flowers have had many meanings in myths and legends. Swelling from tender bud to full bloom, flowers are connected to youth, beauty, and pleasure. But as they wilt and die, flowers represent fragility and the swift passage from life into death.

Daffodils are some of the first flowers we see in springtime and are a great indicator that winter is over. Therefore they are seen to symbolize and represent rebirth and new beginnings. Daffodils represent truth and honesty.

The name comes from Greek mythology and takes on the tale of Narcissu. Once a young hunter who had been blessed with drop-dead-gorgeous attributes. A water nymph fell madly in love with him, but he could not return her affections because of his intense vanity. A spell was then casted on him, causing him to be so enchanted by his own likeness mirrored in the water’s edge that he eventually faded away at the very spot, leaving only daffodils in his wake.

You can be the owner of this One-of-a-Kind Antique Spoon Ring, or give as a gift.

History of Spoon Rings — 17th Century– Romantic Love

There is lore that spoon rings dated back to the 17th century in England – and the legend is tied to romance. The story goes that servants working in manor houses would steal sterling silverware from their master’s homes and craft them into bands because they could not afford a true wedding band. Legend has it that Robin Hood gave his beloved Maid Marian a ring made from a stolen spoon. Given his affection of stealing from the rich and giving to the poor, this legend is not too hard to believe and truly romantic.
The tradition of making spoon rings continues to this day, it reached a fever pitch in the late middle 20th century with rise of the Hippie movement in the 1960s and 1970s.
